structural corrections

With each patient at my Elmhurst, IL chiropractic office, we start with the basics. If your spinal alignment is out of whack, it's going to cause pain. But this can also lead to many other health problems.

Let's fix it.

optimize nutrition

Ever feel like you can barely drag yourself out of bed? There's a reason for that.

Unfortunately, the typical American diet is built around foods that can cause inflammation and disease.

Fortunately, it's all easily reversible.

emotional factors

Emotions trigger chemicals in the body. When things are going well, you feel great.

When you're dealing with stress, and a range of other negative emotions, you can experience unexpected health consequences.

Let's counteract them.

A Q&A with Dr. V.

Why do I have back pain?

While every case is unique there are several factors that frequently cause back pain. The first significant factor is structural alignment being off, meaning that the joints of your back, neck, knees, feet, hands or jaw are not in the place where they should be. This can cause pain from increased inflammation. Another issue is adrenal fatigue, which I see in the vast majority of my patients. This can be attributed to stress, poor diet, lack of hydration and emotional stressors.

This is how I explain it to patients at my Elmhurst, IL chiropractic office. When the adrenal glands are constantly firing, the body thinks it’s in fight or flight mode. This is alright for a short period of time. When stress is prolonged over the course of weeks, months and years, though, it is detrimental to your health. Under prolonged stress, your vitamin C (which helps with immune support, reduction of inflammation, stress management and ligament rebuilding) is depleted, causing your body to borrow from itself (from its ligaments and joints) to stabilize the adrenal glands. Stress ultimately compromises the integrity of your joints and ligaments, causing inflammation and pain. Other factors that can impact or cause back pain include hormone imbalance, dehydration, emotional stress, etc.
